Branch Manager
We are currently seeking an experienced & people-focused Branch Manager for one of our clients based in South Edmonton.
You lead day-to-day operations, develop a high-performing team, and expand the branch’s commercial and personal insurance portfolio. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced insurance professional who can balance team management, client service, operational discipline and business development.
Reporting to senior leadership, the Branch Manager is accountable for branch performance, team development, client retention, operational quality and profitable growth. The successful candidate will coach insurance advisors and service staff, monitor production and service standards, support complex client needs, and build strong relationships with insurers and referral partners.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach and support insurance advisors and administrative/service staff.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular one-on-ones and provide timely feedback.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, licensing and continuing education.
- Build a collaborative, accountable and client-focused branch culture.
- Address performance or conduct concerns consistently and in partnership with senior leadership.
- Develop and execute a practical branch growth plan across commercial and personal insurance.
- Manage company-provided opportunities while building referral, community and business relationships.
- Coach the team on consultative selling, cross-selling, pipeline management and client follow-up.
- Maintain a personal book or participate directly in sales where appropriate.
- Track sales activity, conversion, retention, revenue and profitability against branch targets.
- Identify local market opportunities and strengthen the brokerage’s presence in the community.
- Support complex or high-value commercial and personal insurance accounts.
- Build trusted relationships with business owners, contractors, property owners, families and referral partners.
- Resolve escalated client concerns promptly, fairly and professionally.
- Maintain productive relationships with insurance carriers and underwriting partners.
- Promote strong renewal practices, proactive account reviews and long-term client retention.
- Oversee daily branch workflow, service levels, staffing coverage and client-file quality.
- Ensure new business, renewals, endorsements and policy changes are processed accurately and on time.
- Maintain compliance with brokerage procedures, insurer requirements, privacy obligations and Alberta Insurance Council standards.
- Monitor errors and omissions risk, documentation practices, complaints and quality-control processes.
- Prepare regular branch reports and recommend operational improvements to senior leadership.
- Manage branch expenses and resources responsibly within approved budgets.
- Minimum 4 years of general insurance brokerage experience, including commercial insurance exposure.
- At least 2 years of team-lead or supervisory experience.
- Active Alberta General Insurance Level 2 license in good standing.
- Strong knowledge of brokerage operations, client service, underwriting and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to coach employees, manage performance and achieve business targets.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, judgment and problem-solving skills.
