Journeyman Machinist

We are building relationships with experienced Journeyman Machinists for opportunities with a leading Central Alberta manufacturer specializing in oilfield pressure control equipment. We are seeking skilled machinists with experience in CNC and/or manual machining, precision manufacturing, and industrial equipment.


Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC and conventional machining equipment, including lathes, mills and multi-tasking machines
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, machining specifications and GD&T requirements
  • Select appropriate tooling, cutting tools, speeds and feeds to produce precision components to specification
  • Perform precision measurements and inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges and other measuring equipment
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to ensure quality, accuracy and production requirements are met
  • Machine components used in pressure-control and oilfield equipment while maintaining strict quality and safety standards
  • Complete production documentation and maintain accurate records
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe and organized work area
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, quality and other shop personnel

Qualifications:
  • Valid Alberta Journeyperson Machinist certificate; Red Seal certification is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in CNC and/or conventional machining in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and machining specifications
  • Experience with precision measuring tools and quality-control processes
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience machining components for the oil and gas industry or pressure-control equipment is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with an acceptable driver’s abstract
  • CSTS, First Aid, WHMIS, forklift, overhead crane or other industry/site-specific tickets are assets
